Coach Cecilia

Cecilia began her coaching journey at the age of 17, after an illustrious career as a National Team athlete who competed at multiple international competitions, including the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games. She concluded her athlete career with the 2019 AGG World Championships at the age of 24, after 13 active years of being a gymnast. Cecilia has coached the Singapore National Teams as well as local and international schools across Singapore, and is an internationally accredited coach (ranked 2nd out of 18 international participants at the 2018 FIG Academy Level 1 course).

 

In recognition of her coaching contributions, Cecilia was conferred the Coach of the Year 2019 (National) by Singapore Gymnastics. Now, Cecilia looks forward to her role as a Coach Mentor to share her experiences with newer coaches in the gymnastics community and hopes to continue inspiring her gymnasts through her passion for gymnastics.

 

Cecilia believes that there is potential in every child, and is excited in her work with her students. She cherishes the rapport and bond formed with each student, and is heartened to witness her gymnasts grow under her wings. She prioritises the holistic growth of her students, to become all-rounded individuals especially in character development. Cecilia is well-loved by her students, who describe her as "encouraging and empowering".
